Alice Taylor is a strategic planning and business development executive focusing on creating business plans and strategic roadmaps, and guiding new ventures from idea stage to market roll-out. She works with both for profit and non-profit entities and is particularly skilled at public-private partnerships and pursuing grant opportunities. Past projects include a veteran-owned start-up to create mobile apps using virtual humans, a mobile advertising and ‘rewardware’ company for the gaming industry, advanced communication networks utilizing both terrestrial and satellite resources, a next generation display and photonics technology company, an interactive app focusing on the latest in brain research, co-founding a fine arts production company, and assisting a number of local non-profits. She spent over twenty years in the aerospace industry. Taylor did strategic partnering and international marketing for Boeing Satellite Systems and Boeing Digital Cinema. Before joining Boeing she was with Hughes. While at Hughes she worked on next generation wireless communication networks and security systems for vehicles and intelligent highway systems; satellite based entertainment networks for Digital Cinema, DIRECTV, SpaceWay (now known as HughesNet), and one of the original in-flight entertainment systems. A lifelong poet, playwright and costume designer she often takes to the stage performing her “Neo-Beat” poetry complete with beret and bongos at coffee shops and local events. Taylor is a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor having earned a Master’s degree from the School of Information Studies and as a member of the Residential College, a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.
