MONOLOGUE WEAVERS
Monologue Weavers is 4-part workshop on zoom for women to create a deeply personal piece of writing. This serves as core source material to ultimately create a polished piece: a monologue, lyrics or stand up comedy. Whether you want to refine your personal brand, perform a monologue or perhaps launch your book, this work will give you the support and space to dig into your story and put it into writing in a safe supportive space. Everyone will share their work, receive feedback and creative ideas to refine the final piece which will be presented for the class.

Part 1: Excavate it.
Where do we begin? The incident from your childhood or more recently that you are avoiding and hope you can gloss over, that’s where we will begin. Whether you want to launch a business or a creative project who you are will reveal itself through this workshop. Whatever it is, the way you tell this story will help define your personal brand.

Part 2: Write it.
Using writing prompts to examine your event from various perspectives, we will write as a group, get feedback and discover the container for this piece. Is it a monologue, song lyrics, poetry or stand-up comedy?

Part 3: Edit it.
Playing with perspective, character work and channeling different aspects of your voice will help you find the final edit and form for this piece. Whether you want to launch a business or begin a creative project to share with the world telling your story is the most powerful tool you have. What is your personal message?

Part 4: Perform it.
You will read your piece and then with direction “perform” it and bring it to life in a safe supportive space.
